On Saturday the 15th of June, 2019. The students of the University of Benin in Benin Edo State came out in their numbers to witness the UNIBEN ONLINE BUSINESS CONFERENCE 2.0. organized The conference was hosted by Ajayi Adebayo who is the CEO of Webbiit Technologies domiciled in Benin www.webbiit.com Mr. Ajayi has been spearheading the idea that for the need for Nigerians to get out of poverty, its youth must focus online for viable employment. This belief propelled him into organizing this event which had over 500 people in attendance.
The speakers at the event included Mr. Umeh Gerald Offordile of GeraldFord Technologies Limited Lagos and onlinehustle.com.ng, Mrs Chisom Belinda, Mr. Owolabi ThankGod of o3schools.com, Richard Esemuru of VSL Concepts, Cyril Okonkwo.
Mr. Gerald Offordile Umeh who was the first speaker at the event spoke about His “Personal online Hustle and how it can be replicated” by the students. He started by expantiating the unemployment data from the National Bureau of Statistics and opened the eyes of the students on the need to embrace the internet as the future of work is remote. Mr Gerald Umeh who is a web developer and an Indian trained ICT expert went ahead to share testimonies of his personal successes online. He made it clear that online just like offline, the need for dedication, consistency and skill cannot be overemphasized.

He made it very clear that despite all his years of training on ICT, His many certifications that his reason for coming to speak to them is because He is winning online and wants everybody who is willing to Win with him. He went ahead and talked about various things He has done online to make money which includes selling on fiverr.com, starting a youtube channel, Affiliate marketing, Monetizing your already existing skill online. He maintained his long term belief that there is something for everyone to do on Fiverr.com and went ahead to list some of the easiest services to sell on Fiverr by virtually everyone.

Chisom Belinda and Richard Esemuru of VSL Concepts took time to explain the little known secrets of Instagram. They opened the eyes of all in attendance of the many advantages of Instagram that goes beyond content consumption. Richard explained how he used Instagram for drop shipping which is where he raised money to start his chain of businesses which include the number one beauty salon in Benin City. Chisom explained how creating contents based on her skill and putting them on Instagram has skyrocketed her into one of the most sought after Instagram influencers in the area of phone video and picture editing.

Mr. Ajayi Adebayo mounted the podium shortly after and reiterated Gerald’s initial claim that the problem for most people is how to monetize the skills that they already have because almost everybody in attendance can do all the things that the speakers have mentioned.

Mr. Owolabi ThankGod founder of o3schools.com, talked about his passion for education and how that led him to build one of the most successful education blogs that receive a sizeable amount of income from google monthly even as a student in UNIBEN.

Cyril Okonkwo who also is a student of UNIBEN talked about how he is killing it in the writing industry

The event came to an end with raffle draw which students win exciting prizes like mobile phones, recharge cards, pressing irons, fans and freelancing and video editing class organized by Webbiit technologies which were handled by Gerald Offordile Umeh and Ajayi Adebayo
