No manager would want an injury plagued player. Bale spent most part of last season off the team all thanks to injury. It would have been a different thing entirely if he wasn't getting injured every time.

That said, I don't understand how anyone could ever dream of comparing Zidane, one of the finest midfielders in his playing days to a winger who sees more of the ball go to the back of the net.

Unlike many other clubs, Madrid cannot thrive with average players. They've lost their fear factor and the only way to regain that is to sign up exceptional players. Like Neymar, Sterling, De Bruyne, Mbappe etc. The only notable person for their status they've signed so far is Hazard. All the rest are just dust.
