I still have not seen any northerner celebrated internationally for anything. It's strange. Isnt it? Just one thing northerners, just one person, just one!!! Yet they shout one Nigeria. Yoruba's , Igbo's and Niger deltans are the live wire of this nation, we bring the country alive and raise it higher in the global stratosphere...Northerners are a clog in our wheel of progress. And its a shame I share nationality with them..#PROUDLY YORUBA

Have you given your life to him??

The funny thing about this statement is => had it been it was the Arabs that colonized your state... This your give your life to Christ thingy would have been "Give your life to Mohammed"

We all are victims of circumstances.. There's no one true religion. Just love the next human being as you love yourself

Jesus Christ said love your neighbor as yourself.. I believe in Christ and he is my saviour. It's left for you to heed

It doesn’t have to be the conventional thing.
It is called being unique.
He simply had to create a unique niche for himself.
Hope you saw all those places he has been featured?
The interviews and exposures.
How many canvas artist can boast of this kind of CV.

It’s too crowded down there, find your way to the top by being UNIQUE.

Why add "s" to sheroes "Hero" applies to both genders.. Unnecessary. "Shero" is alien to the english lexicon!

MoneyMan5:
Laolu Senbanjo has added another huge name to his impressive international career.

His latest collaboration is with tennis superstar Serena Williams on the cover of the September Global Fashion issue of Essence where she rocks the Nigerian visual artist's distinctive body paint.

He took to his Instagram page to share his excitement about working with one of his sheroes.

His caption read, “Working with one of the greatest athletes of all time was truly an honour. It is still surreal when I think that @serenawilliams was my canvas. I captured her essence and greatness with this unique print. Every element in the Artwork is a reflection of who she is."

“Growing up in Nigeria, it was far-reaching to think that I could ever work with such an amazing person; one of my sheroes. For those who think their dreams are unreachable, I hope this serves as validation that they’re not. Thank you @essence for the opportunity.”

The man behind the art

Senbanjo, better known as Laolu NYC, has made a name for himself with his mystical body art which is steeped in Yoruba mythology.

Since leaving the country for his base — Brooklyn, his Sacred Art of the Ori Yoruba body paint ritual has been featured on Beyonce’s Grammy Award-winning Visual Album, “Lemonade.”

Laolu Senbanjo's work featured on Beyonce's album

He has also appeared in the Washington Post, the NY Times, Vogue, BBC, CNN, VICE and collaborated with top brands like Nike and Bvlgari.

Regardless of who is working with, he stays true to his heritage. He explains why this is so important to him in an exclusive interview with Pulse.

In his words, “When you are Nigerian, you really are an ambassador for the country without even realising it. My art has allowed me not only to express myself but also educate people and I never thought that I would be in that kind of space to do that. Art has been that tool that has brought me in front of a lot of people and allowed me to explain what it means to be Nigerian. I explain to them what the imagery I use signifies and I take them to Nigeria without them having to move an inch which is a unique thing.’’

Senbanjo's style of art is called 'Afromysterics', a term coined by the artist. It means the mystery of the African thought pattern.

His mantra is "everything is my canvas" which is why you can his art on everything from people to shoes, bags and jackets.

Jesus is coming soon! Give your life to Christ
. Pls dont take myths for realities. You are still waiting for heaven when it's already here. It's the poor situation of the country that has made people believe that there is somewhere better to go after death. I don't think you would want to be in heaven if we had good government and things are going well. Pls make this place more conducive for yourself and family and you will experience heaven on Earth.
That Jesus you so much claim to have is God himself. His love is infinite and for everyone regardless of religion. The same claim u have made about access to God is what is happening in other religion too. However, they even have a stronger argument than you. Who is right and who is wrong? We are right in our own way but the truth stands independent of religious interpretation. So why make it look as if it's only Christians that have access to God? Or heaven is only for Christians if it really exists?
No religion has reached a stage of Ultimate truth. The Bible that inspired you to make that post has a whole lot of incomplete stories and questionable claims and so does the Koran. Infact it seems one was copied from the other. Most of this terrorists find inspirations from a book becos they believe that killing will lead them to external Bliss. Why should I swallow hook, line and sinker the contents of a book that tells me to kill so as to spread the faith? So human life should be sacrificed on the altar of religion? There is sth wrong with it.. Moreover our preachers have complicated the whole thing.. Imagine one of them said that u cant go to heaven if you don't pay your tithe. Hence, The very foundation that holds your faith and others are faulty. Look at the creation story and how scientists have been able to make it look like a complete lie with a whole lot of convincing evidence.. .
I'm not an atheist though and don't call me one cos there is enough proof of God's existence that even a core atheist can't ignore. I believe in God and Jesus his son and I worship in a church but you can't tell me to subscribe to all I see in a book that the white men sent to us and have since abandoned for human development, science and technology, etc. Africans must arise and build for the future. Religion hasn't really helped us.
Its only the lazy ones that have allowed religion take a big part of their lives when there are better things to do.. When u dig deep u will discover that it's indeed the opium of the masses. However the truth is not far fetched as independent thinking is not an aberration. This is why our preachers are specialists in indoctrination as they are aware of the implications of letting their members make discoveries on their own. They know what will happen to their incomes and prestige. Be it as it may, The future of religion is that it has no future cos alot of people are constructing their own faiths.

Jesus is coming soon! Give your life to Christ

What have you given to/for Him in line with the passage below or you are just a religious hypocrite like so many others who have nothing on Jesus Christ.
Nada.
Zero.

33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

It's a contemporary trend. Artists are fast abandoning the traditional. The type of art that Laolu practices is always documented in pictures and videos. He probably makes more money than most artists that work on canvas through endorsements from popular brands. If I can remember, Bulgari did something with his art
