#International Left Handers Day# Interesting, historical, and scientific fun facts about left-handers

Today is the commemoration of World Left Handers day and I decided to celebrate with the lefties by writing a few fun facts about them.

1. International left handers day is celebrated on the 13th of August every year. It was founded by the Left Handers Club in 1992.

2. To be left handed means to have a left dominate hand/arm or a left dominate foot.

3. Left handed individuals have a right dominate brain called the right cerebrum

4. Plenty of famous people are lefties! Leonardo da Vinci, Bill Gates, Shigeru Miyamoto, Morgan Freeman, Barack Obama, JF Kennedy, Oprah Winfrey, George Bush, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Mahatma Gandhi, Henry Ford, Tom Cruise, Julius Caesar, Napoleon Bonaparte, Gordan Ramsey, and more are all lefties!

5. 10 to 12 percent of the world population are left handed

7. In my opinion, lefties are still be marginalized in our societies. Most infrastructures, basic amenities, cars, public utilities and school desks are constructed with due considerations to left handers. In the words of John W. Op your post is really educative and insightful. I used to get confused about my dominant use of my hands until now. I'm a lefty forced to change to using right hand for eating and writing and this has made me more ambidextrous. But seriously, I feel more confident whenever I'm using my left hand to carry our major tasks except when all eyes turn to me.
Some research suggests that the use of either right or left hand is determined by the left and right side of the brain. I guess I need to read more on this.
If you're left handed, and you've never had any problem with scissors or any cutting object, you're lucky indeed.

I find it difficult making use of the scissors, i use my right hand to eat and write Other than that I'm lefty and Ambidextrous. I Slap with my left hand I knock with my left collect with my left.

Bro, be confident about this our 'dilemma'. Lol..I used to eat with my right hand at public events, just not to look odd or whatever. Now I don't care, it's who I am.You sha can't kick me out of your party.Using your weaker hand will certainly slow you down and bring poorer output. As for me those attempts to change me during childhood failed, hence I am a leftist TOTALLY. Writing, eating or any other task.

I never knew why I always fidgeted with the Scissors... now I know!
