Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Donald Ojogo has reiterated his commitment to work with all media organisations based in Ondo State, for adequate media coverage of government activities.

Mr. Ojogo stated this while playing host to members of the Federated Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council, in his office in Akure, today.

He said he will not look down on any indigenous media houses in the state, adding that he would institutionalise information management by carrying everyone in the media world along.

The Information Commissioner stated further that media is an important aspect of government, stressing that it would be needed to propagate achievements of government to the people.
He, therefore, assured the Federated Chapel of his cooperation and giving them the necessary recognition they deserved in the scheme of government activities.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the Chapel, Mr. Bayo Adediran said the Federated Chapel consist of community newspapers and magazines in the state. He congratulated the Commissioner on his redeployment to the Ministry of Information and Orientation, stressing that his redeployment to the Ministry has brought symbiotic Information processing, management and dissemination since the Commissioner came on board.
He added that the Commissioner has written his name in gold due to his philanthropic nature, especially when he paid the hospital bill of a mother who delivered triplets, but was detained at Federal Medical Centre in Owo due to the inability of her family to pay the medical bill.
He added that the state based newspapers and magazines practitioners are well informed and responsible people in the pen profession.
Mr. Adediran solicited support and patronage from the government in the area of advertisement placement and promised that the Chapel would cooperate with the Commissioner to make his work easier.
Also speaking, the Publisher of TRACE MAGAZINE, Mr. Ebenezer Adeniyan appreciated the Commissioner for hosting them despite the short notice.
Mr. Adeniyan urged the Commissioner to use his office to ensure that the State based newspaper publishers are carried along in government activities, in areas of patronage and recognition .
He further stated that whatever patronage they get from the government would go a long at boosting the economy of the State, because their production processes take place within the state.
