The people of Ojoto kingdom celebrate Egwúèké 2019, a remarkable ancestral festival performed by Ojoto women to promote oneness among Ojoto women for bountiful harvests and in honour of their heroes past. The event was presided and declared open by the traditional ruler of Ojoto kingdom, HRH Igwe Gerald Obunadike Mbamalụ (Eze Ojoto III, Ezeoranyelu 1). Ojoto the headquarter of Idemili South Local Government as a tourist destination showcases and promotes Igbo traditions and cultural ceremonies which Egwúèké is one of their annual festival that welcomes neighboring communities like Alor, Uke, Nnobi, Umuoji, Obosi etc. to witness the great festival. Egwúèké simply means a “dance to the gods on Èké market day”. Ojoto celebrates Egwúèké and not Egwúéké (python dance). Èké (market day) is different from Éké (python). Eight villages in Ojoto were fully represented in order of seniority as follows: Ezieke, Ojor, Enugo, Ire, Ndiabor, Umuchem, Umuezema, and Ezema. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IypM23PpYbc
