Justice N. E Maha of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Tuesday, September 10, 2019, convicted and sentenced two internet fraudsters, Adefemi Dare and Odeyemi Gbenga, to three months imprisonment.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, arraigned the convicts on separate charges of impersonation, obtaining by tricks and internet fraud.

The convicts were arrested following intelligence report received by the Commission about their illicit activities.

While Dare was arraigned on one-count charge, Gbenga was ducked on three counts bordering on impersonation and attempt to defraud an American national.

After the charges were read to the defendants, they ‘pleaded guilty’ to the three counts.

The defence counsel informed the Court that they had applied for and obtained a plea bargain agreement with the prosecution.

He pleaded with the judge to consider and approve the agreement in line with provisions of Part 28, Section 270 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015 (ACJA).

Justice Maha, after listening to the arguments of counsel, convicted and sentenced the defendants to three months imprisonment with an option of N300,000,00(Three Hundred Thousand Naira) fine.

Day by day they're increasing in numbers. We've not done anything to curb crime as a nation.

Even the law enforcement officials are crime perpetrators

These are the ones that couldn't pay the millions Efcc collect as bail. Just last week a guy like that was told to pay 2.3Million as bail fee. If Efcc could be going to people's houses, breaking doors, entering through ceiling all in the name of making arrest ,of which after the gra gra, what they are after is to collect money in millions as bail fee, believe me one day na one day, monkey go go market and e no go return home. angry

I reckon it's time we abolish the entire prison system and start using criminals to earn foreign exchange, once you commit crime and you are caught we loan you out to another country for the period of your sentence for them to use and they pay us......... angry

Three months later, they are back on the streets enjoying their ill-gotten money.

Sentence the motherfuckers to 50 years imprisonment for killing innocent pensioners.

Let them grow grey hairs in kirikiri...Nonsense!

Curbing crime includes convicting criminals when found guilty in engaging in such activities.

The one that has been collected by efcc. He will start from beginning and that will take sometimes. Most will just relocate sef

Kirikiri indeed, has anyone that have put Nigeria in where it is end up in that kirikiri. Even diezani is somewhere flexing her remaining loot and has not been convicted. Even ibori that stole billions did not end up with 50 years jail term in British jail,he is back home since and flexing the remaining loot and that affected millions of people and not that change those criminals collect from white.

I tell you. efcc is very useless.

imagine 36 million youths unemployed efcc will soon be targeted and hunted

imagine guys bringing in foreign exchange re hunted like this. yet politicians that loot and send our money abroad some efcc will spread red carpet for them. if men never plan their matter dey nir go coordinate.
