This is no ordinary sport, the actions are real and so are the punches and slams. The BATTLE FOR LAGOS was a huge success and the African warriors on display proved their mettle.

Much more than interesting... Like Eha-amufu in Enugu State, the Jalisco Stadium in Oshodi heard the drums of war and saw the fighters in action.

Nice sport .. Interesting to watch. But we need to improve it. Make it colorful and attractive for the world stage..

Hopefully a state in this country will invest into it. Promote it.. Who knows it may be a source of revenue in future.

For us at African Warriors Fighting Championship, we recognise this and that's why we have embarked on this journey to show the colourful and all immersive nature of African traditional combat sports to the world.

The Battle for Lagos was our second hosted event done in conjunction with the Lagos State board for traditional sports. In December, we will be taking Lagos again by storm at the Coronation of Kings, happening live at a beach front on the island.

THE BATTLE FOR LAGOS

A convergence of fighters across Nigeria saw the emergence of champions in Wrestling and Dambe. The event organised by the AFRICAN WARRIORS FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIP in conjunction with the Lagos State Board of Traditional Sports was action-packed, thrilling and exciting.


Jalisco Stadium in Oshodi played host to the event and the crowd had their fill of hard punches, tackles and slams.

It is said that a picture tell a thousand words... feed your eyes.

The Dambe is usually common among the Hausa's... If you come to Obalende on weekends, you will see them under the bridge, I once did a feature about them around May this year... But they are mostly drugged

This isn't dembe it's akurobucha and it originated from Anu Mbama village of Ubiamutoh in eastern akwa ibom. Minister Amaechi was the pioneer of this sport in Africa. He wrestled with a fallen lion to form the sport, the lion was green and yellow. This saved Ubiamutoh village, which is why he was given ministerial post

Senegalese wrestling is the best. Those guys are professionals in their sport. Dambe is an amateur sport anyone can indulge in. It is also very dangerous unlike Senegal's catch wrestling form.
