Player in Focus : Kabiru Akinsola

Born in Imo state, Kabiru Akinsola could be remembered for his energetic solo goal that he scored during the extra-time that won the U-17 AFCON trophy for Nigeria against hosts Togo in 2007.

After lifting the World Cup trophy in a team tutored by the late Yemi Tella, Kabiru started his club football with Étoile Sportive du Sahel two years later where he signed a five year deal with the Tunisian team but only made one appearance.

Six months later, he move to Salamanca in the Spanish second tier for game time where he played 15 times in about two seasons and found the net twice and no thanks to delay in paper work and thigh injury.
He stayed in Spain but dropped down to the third level, moving to Zamora CF in mid 2010 and
scored 11 in 32games and was able to attract Granada and was subsequently loaned back to the Spanish third division with Cádiz, Cartagena and later Doxa between 2011 to 2013.

CE L'Hospitalet hijack him from the 'Nazaríes' later 2013 where he rack-up 28 appearances and was able to celebrate five goals.

The final bend was in Romania with CSMS Iași , Sunshine stars in 2015 and final stop at Mérida Asociación Deportiva in 2016.

'Olanrewaju' has been unattached since 2016.
