Ganvie is a community built on water with a population of 35,000 members. Their major occupation is fishing. Men do fishing and women sell.

Community members innovated artificial land on the water so that children can walk. They have a school, clinic, and churches.




They trade in their canoes on the river. They are also strong on religion; 50% are Christians, 5% Muslims and the rest are Voodoo worshippers.
