African women have been brought up to believe that they are NOTHING unless they are called "Mrs somebody"... thus many will rather be miserable in marriage (and keep the charade) rather than divorce. Many men know that very well, and gladly blackmail these poor women into accepting whatever nonsense under the moon (bastard baby included). Most men cannot accept the same from wifey.... as he will be viewed as less than a man by that same society.
