Tragedy struck this morning in Lagos as a pregnant woman who was going to Navy Hospital in the Satellite Town area of Lagos for delivery died on the road.

The car conveying the woman from Okokomaiko ran into heavy traffic at the Ojo Army barracks.

While she was waiting in the car, she went into forced labor and started to bleed. After a lot of time, the driver of the car was able to maneuver out of the traffic to Bonne Sante hospital located at the Barracks bus stop.

But on getting there, she was rejected on the ground that she had lost a lot of blood.

According to an eye witness who spoke to Irukkanews, the resident doctor told the husband of the woman that his wife had lost a lot of blood and that they had none in the hospital to give to her.

His words

“The doctor told the husband of the pregnant woman to carry his wife to Navy hospital since that is the nearest place they can get blood. The man carried his wife back to the car and began to look for another road to avoid the traffic which was coming from the overhead bridge at Lagos International Trade Fair and in the process the woman died”.

According to him, when the man noticed that his wife had died, he too collapsed in the car, adding that it took a combined effort of people living in Olanrewaju street where he drove into in search of an alternative route to revive him.

He called on the Lagos State government to persuade the contractor handling the Lagos, Badagry expressway to finish the road in good time.
