Any Nigerian student that manages to sit for WAEC and JAMB whether he or she passes or not can graduate with a first class in universities in US, Europe, Canada, Australia, etc.

Let her come back, enrol at UNN, or UNILAG or UI or FUTO or FUTA or OAU or the likes and bag 3rd class then we can agree that she is truly intelligent.

Like someone rightfully said, a 3rd class graduate from a Nigerian government University or Polytechnic can bag a first class in a foreign university.

Beautiful, yes she is but we need to see her ass to confirm if her ass is also as beautiful as her face wink

Be deceiving yourself, I have both studied in Nigeria and USA, you can't compare an associate degree in USA with Master degree in Nigeria. You that you never leave Nigeria you are making delusional comparison.

Wonder-shall-never-end see jealousy in nairalanders comment. How can you compare a UK university to a Nigeria university. No Nigeria university is in top 200 institutions around the world yet you say a third class degree holder in Nigeria can be levelled against a first class degree holder from a UK institution. But you want hustle hard make your child attend one school for UK. It this not jealousy and hypocrisy.

He is probably talking about the forces that an average Nigerian student is up against. An average Nigerian student bags his degree, be it 3rd class, against all odds.

Nairalanders and hate.

Most pessimistic opinion up and down. All those saying it is easy should go and bag the same first class degree in your discipline and then come and show us here.

She will get a good job with her connections and her first class will put her in a good level. She will be flexing her life without knowing you (pessimistic ) haters exist.

Pssh better go and fix your life and leave her alone.

Hmm awon pure breed haters.

shutup! Did she invented anything new

Getting a first class in European or American or Canadian or Australian or even Asian university is very easy if you devote few hours of your time everyday to study and do the assignments your prof assigned to you.

Its not a big achievement bagging a first in a foreign institution, what white folks are more interested in is research, invention and using their brains and skills to create solutions to global challenges not doing your easy assignments and writing exams based on what they taught you, where lecturers want you to pass, unlike in Nigeria where lecturers and professors only derive joy when you fail or get a low grade in their course so you can come sort them or Bleep them like we have been hearing, so stop hailing her cos most Nigerians schooling in Nigeria will graduate with first class abroad if given the opportunity to travel out to study abroad.
What have you achieved before? I know your type graduated with a pass. Common, congratulate the girl and leave matter for Mathias. E no easy!!!

Which is the reality besides QMU is a very good school for legal studies and her alumni are in top positions in top legal firms (Nigeria's Magic & Silver Circles). When I say that most Nigerians behave stoopidly, this thread reinforces that statement. According to these folks, the "lesser the number of first class grads a university/department/faculty churns out, the better it is". Cretins everywhere.

Maybe they meant that the stress one goes through in our universities couple with lack of learning facilities, sound and unbiased lecturers; not conducive environment, hunger, malaria, and barrages of sicking news around Nigeria make it fantastically impossible to achieve the deserved academic excellence.

So if one gets Third Class under these unfavorable conditions in Nigeria, probably that person will get first class in any institutions in the Western world without those bedevilling challenges ?

Beauty, yes.
Brains, not so certain.

This is because a 3rd class degree holder will effortlessly make a First class in a UK university.

Such a baseless comment. Just because lecturers in Nigerian Universities make you go through hell before they teach you outdated stuff and still try to sleep with the ladies for grades doesn't mean every educational system in the world is like that. First class is usually like the top 1-5 percent of the graduating class. That means that in her graduating class she was one of the top students. From my masters in the U.S I have 3 publications in international journals. And just from 2 years masters because I have access to everything I need. Go and ask your friends masters and PhD friends in Nigeria that graduated with first class and 2.1 if there is not a steep learning curve coming from Nigeria to study science based research oriented courses in the west. Our curriculum in Nigerian universities simply doesn't prepare us well enough for the 21st century. Many PhD students in Nigeria are still struggling to have one relevant publication because when they are doing their research NEPA will take light. That is a fault of your leaders and not the UK govt.
