Launching a website can be stressful and quite overwhelming. It doesn't matter if it a blog or a business website, the challenge is still the same: you’d still need to promote your site so visitors can find you and enjoy your content.
I get to hear startups complaining of having the desired visit their blogs has they have wanted. This post will provide a springboard on how to effectively launch your site.

Set up a pre-website page
Before the initial launch, set up a pre-launch webpage while you are still working on the bigger picture. The pre-launch page enables you to call visitors attention to it, so while the mother website is getting ready the pre-launch already has a foot hold of visitors. That way they have built interest and enthusiasm about the site.

Tangible high quality contents
One major important aspect of gaining more traffic to your new website is the presence of high quality content, as you officially launch your website visitors would want to see high quality content. We advise a minimum of 3 and maximum of 10 high-quality contents, this content would capture the attention of your audience and prove to them the would always find quality materials whenever they visit your site before the initial launch.
An Email sign-up list
On your website provide a means whereby your visitors can sign up to receive emails. As a website owner sign-up with an email marketing service like Mailchimp and attach an opt-in box to your site.
The very essence of you sending mails is a form of marketing, that enables you give singular information to your website visitors.

Invest on SEO
The SEO game is top-notch for brand visibility and awareness, as a website owner SEO should be part of your strategies to gain more visitors to your site. Hire a professional SEM/SEO expert to help you build your SEO metrics. It is to the benefit of your website traffic if your name comes up on search categories on popular search engines.
SEO has a big role to play in your website traffic and also website performance and conversion. Traffic on the search engine is the best traffic because people are actually searching for what you solve. Google, which is one of the top search engines has over 40,000 search queries every second on average which translates to over 3.5Million searches per day. So if you are looking to make sales, grow your business and keep people engaged with your website then invest more in search engine optimization.

Make sure your website is user-friendly
Having a website which users can navigate and use easily is a head start to having frequent visits. Users wants a website they can easily access from the comfort of their smartphone with having it “jammed” or displaying “error-550”, therefore when building a website be sure to test run it on both desktop and mobile interface.
One of the major website visits are often en-route from smartphones than from desktop users due to the fact that smartphones are easily carried around compared to desktops.

UI interface should be appealing
Interestingly, a well appealing site with graphics and attractive interface would often keep the visitors engaged. A well designed website with creative UX designs will keep visitors on the website longer than they intend to stay.

The Bottom line
Your website should give a first impression when people visit it, remember that whenever people approach your website they ask themselves “why am i here, what’s in it for me”
