Considering a regulatory body called (NUC) Nigerian universities commission,  This is a governing body promoting quality educational grades and ranking among available list of varsities in Nigeria.

 They functions to grant approval for all academic programmes run in Nigerian universities and approvals for the establishment of all higher educational institutions offering degree programmes in Nigerian universities.

They are saddled with the responsibility of a qualitative assurance for all academic programmes offered in Nigerian universities; and channels for all external support to the Nigerian universities.

The perceptions to select the best state university among others is always welcomed and appreciable by the aspirant who which to have a good qualitative education in the country.
Most educationalist believed that federal university is the best to study but some state owned university proves that as a wrong ideology and thinking due to their capability and ability to provide adequate educational system, advanced communication & technology , productive scholars , fast academic calendar and good learning environment.

TOP 10 BEST STATE UNIVERSITIES TO STUDY IN 2020


1. LAGOS STATE UNIVERSITY (LASU)


 The Lagos state university Lasu) was established in 1983 by the Lagos State Government. It operates the multi-campus system and as such, has 4 campuses located in Ojo (main campus), Ikeja, Epe, and Surulere.
It also has about 6 external/affiliated campuses.
It is ranked the top one state university in Nigeria, the institution has Nine(9) faculties

Faculty of Engineering, Social Sciences, School of Basic Medical Sciences, Education, Business Administration, School of Clinical Sciences, Law and Arts. LASU has a student population of over 61,000 students.
 The institution offers diploma, degree and post graduate programmes.

 2. RIVER STATE UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY(RSUST)


The institution was established in 1980 from the Rivers State College of Science and Technology. This university is the first university in the Niger Delta Region and the first Technological university in Nigeria.

RSUST School fees  recently  is withing the range of N25,000 to 27,000 for indigenous students and double the amount for non-indigenous students.  This university is categories among top Universities of Science and technology in Nigeria.
RSUST  has 7 faculties;

Faculty of Agriculture, Environmental Sciences, Management Sciences, Law, Technical and Science Education, Engineering, Sciences and Sciences and College of Medicine.

 3. AMBROSE ALI UNIVERSITY (AAU) Ekpoma


The institution is located in Edo State and was established in 1981. The university was formerly known as Bendel State University before it was renamed to honour Professor Ambrose Alli.
 The university has 8 colleges namely Medical Science, Legal Studies, Agriculture and Natural Resources, Engineering and Technology, Education, Natural Science, Arts and Social Sciences.

 Among top list , AAU is now giving their student qualitative and standard education

4. ADEKUNLE AJASIN UNIVERSITY, Akungba Akoko (AAUA)


Adekunle Ajasin University was first established as Obafemi Awolowo University in March 1982 by the government of the old Ondo State, headed by the late Chief Michael Adekunle Ajasin. The immediately succeeding military government of Navy Commodore Michael Bamidele Otiko changed its name to Ondo State University in 1985.
Its relocation to Akungba Akoko in the new Ondo State became imperative in 1999, following the creation of a new state out of the old Ondo three years earlier in October 1996.

Adekunle Ajasin University offers
undergraduate and post-graduate as well as Pre-degree, JUBEB programmes in fields of specialization ranging from
Science , Arts , Education , Law , Social Science and Management science|Management Sciences and Agricultural Sciences . The university has 6 faculties.

5. OLABISI ONABANJO UNIVERSITY,(OOU)


Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye is a state (owned and operated) university in Ago-Iwoye , Ogun State ,
Nigeria . The university was founded July 7, 1982 as Ogun State University (OSU) and was renamed Olabisi Onabanjo University on May 29, 2001 in honour of Chief (Dr.) Olabisi Onabanjo.

 AAUA has  ten faculties with a total number of fifty-six departments which are spread across its campuses in the state.
 It has 5000students.

6. DELTA STATE UNIVERSITY(DELSU)


The Delta State University, Abraka was established in 1992 by the Delta State Government. This university runs a multi-campus system. It has 3 campuses with 200km apart.

The institution has 3 campuses with  a student strength of 36,000 spread across it 11 faculties
which are:
Faculty of Arts, Science, Education, Law, Pharmacy, Agriculture, Engineering, Environmental studies, Management studies, and Basic Medical Science.


7. EKITI STATE UNIVERSITY (EKSU)


 The school was established as Obafemi Awolowo University, Ado-Ekiti on 30 March 1982 by the administration of late Chief Michael Adekunle Ajasin, name was further changed to Ondo State University in 1985 and subsequently changed again to University of Ado-Ekiti in November 1999 and in September 2011 it was finally given its current name Ekiti State University.
 The university maintained their faculties which are ;
Faculty of Agricultural Science, Arts, Basic Medical Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Education, Engineering, Law, Management Science, Science, and Social Sciences.
