23 year old Kano Indigene, Abbas Musa beat Gimba Kakanda's record, sets new British IELTS record in Northern Nigeria. Abbas Musa, A 2019 first class graduate of Economics from Yusuf Maitama Sule University, Kano formerly known as (North West University) has achieved a milestone as he scores a rare 8.0 band in the British IELTS exam setting a new record in Northern Nigeria. Preliminary checks revealed that the soft spoken Abbas Musa is the youngest ever Northerner to achieve this score. It would be recalled that Gimba Kakanda, a social media influencer and an Op-ed columnist with Aljazeera, Premium times and dailyNigerian scored 7.5 band sometimes last year. It is Noteworthy that no Nigerian has ever scored beyond 8.0 This is as a good signal for Arewa, and Nigeria that a well trained Northerner can stand tall among his peers if given the right training.
