The annual Ballon D'Or ceremony has been hijacked by leaked details that have revealed the winner of the 2019 edition. According to the report, the gala that will take place on December 2 will be one filled with history, as one of the players included in the shortlist to win the award will be winning his sixth trophy of the sort.

Earlier today, an article by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport suggests that Juventus' ace Cristiano Ronaldo will be winning his sixth Ballon D'Or, beating Lionel Messi and Virgil Van Dijk to the award.

The report states that members of France Football's board made their way to Turin in order to interview CR7, as part of the usual preparations for the gala. Added to that, France Football's emmisaries had dinner with the Portuguese ace, with Juventus' president Fabio Paratici being invited along.

This would mark a new trend in football's awards' season, as there would be three different winners. Virgil Van Dijk won the UEFA Player of the Year Award, beating CR7 and Messi, and then the Argentine claimed FIFA's The Best Award in controversial fashion after some national team coaches and captains accused FIFA of fixing the results to hand Messi the award.

Only time will tell if this report has any truth to it, but if CR7 ends up winning the coveted trophy, France Football should be wary about how they prepare their gala to avoid such leaks.
