2019 Nigeria Women's League Winners Will Embark On A One-week Tour In Spain by Bethel80: 11:26pm On Oct 30, 2019
The winner of the 2019 Nigeria Women's Professional League will embark on a week tour in Spain as part of the NWPL/La Liga Partnership. This was disclosed by the Chairperson of the league, Aisha Falode at the draws for the Super Four Tournament in Lagos.

Falode said that the partnership was not all about money but technical: "Aisha Falode: "The partnership with the La liga is not monetary but technical. The winner of the NWPL 2019 Super Four Tournament will go on a one week tour to Spain."

The deal with La Liga will also see La Liga sending a technical expert who will come from Spain to train local coaches and update their knowledge of the game in order to improve the standard of football in the league

"We also have an agreement with La liga to send in technical expert from Spain to train NWPL Coaches as we want them updated and upgraded."

As expected, the media has interest in what is happening in the league and Falode appeals to them to come closer and work hand in gloves with the league to make it better

"I want to appeal to the media to commend us when we do good and if you must criticise, please make sure it's constructive as it will help us do better."

Aisha Falode also lamented the absence of fans at different NWPL venues: "The only support we get in Nigeria is only on social media. Even when we make entrance free and make publicity people still don't come out to watch but they easily condemn and suggest solutions to problems they have no idea of."

Many fans would love to see the league on TV, a mission thinks is difficult but not impossible "having games on TV is very expensive, to show a game live on TV will cost as much as N9m. When the Laliga first started, it was only one TV Station that offered to show the matches free."

The season, the league was abrided to cut operating costs and time. Going forward, Falode said the league is looking forward to have a straight league soon

"We are looking forward to having a straight league in no time. Having to pay over N2m every week for referee's indemnities isnt easy. The CAF Women's Champions League is in the pipeline."

The NWPL Super Four Tournament begins on Friday with Adamawa Queens, Confluence Queens, Rivers Angels and Bayelsa Queens contending for the title. Bayelsa Queens are defending champions
