In recognition of his immense contributions to the propagation and exportation of rich Edo cultural heritage, African's most consistent filmmaker, Sir Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen has been honored by National Council for Arts and Culture, organizers of National Festival of Arts and Culture,(NAFEST).

The award, in its 32rd edition, held in Benin City, the Edo State capital and in it's 40th year of existence singled him and musical legend, Sir Victor Uwaifo, out of millions of Nigerians recognises his 'Man Use of Movies in the Propagation of the Rich Edo Cultural Heritage while, Sir Victor got the one in the area of Music for the Propagation and Globalization of Edo Language.
