Fingerprint Unlock Now Available On WhatsApp For Android: WhatsApp keeps improving its app both on iOS and Android. earlier last year, WhatsApp included many features on its privacy section on the iOS version of its app.

The added features on the iOS include fingerprint unlocking, being able to read a new message without having to open that particular chat, being able to view someone’s status without the person knowing you did.

These are no tricks or done by a third-party app. It’s a new feature that WhatsApp rolled out to the iOS version of its app earlier last year.

Android users felt they were left behind without knowing that WhatsApp still have them at heart.

Just as the year 2019 is rounding up and we are getting set for 2020, WhatsApp has finally put a smile on the face of users who run their app on Android devices.

WhatsApp has just introduced and rolled out the fingerprint unlocking option to it’s Android users in other to enhance their privacy and security.

Now, those who run WhatsApp on Android devices can now use the fingerprint unlocking feature too just like the iOS users who have been enjoying it all these while.

What’s Finger Print Unlock?

For those who may not know what the fingerprint unlocking is all about, it’s an impression which is left by the friction ridges of your fingers.

When this is set up, you can use it to unlock your device and other gadgets. (Note: not all devices supports the fingerprint feature). With the fingerprint unlocking feature, you are even safer when it comes to invading your privacy by a stranger who tries to gain access to your device or app.

When this feature is enabled, no one can have access to your device or gadgets except you and you alone.

How To Know If My WhatsApp has the fingerprint unlocking feature

This new feature by WhatsApp is not set on default, you will have to enable it yourself. When you do, you will have to confirm your fingerprint and then start using it.

This feature is only available for those who are running the official app and updated to the latest WhatsApp version 2.19.30

WhatsApp is yet to include the face unlocking feature on the Android version of its app and they did not say if they would add it in the future or not. Stay tuned to the new feature of WhatsApp in 2020.
