I still dont understand why people are in a rush to spend the money they have to build a house and end up broke, lack of sufficient fund or couldnt even complete a house of their thirst at the end.
MY Personal Analysis:
Lets assume a young guy about to marry has #6 million naira in his account and all in the name of being a landlord or to show off end up using up to 5 million to buy land and finnish a 2 or 3 bedroom flat and after his marriage is left with little money in his account will be the beginning of his suffering and living an average life all in the name of not wanting to be a tenent or to let family and friends know you built your own house or maybe to even impress your new wife. Dont make this foolish decision as a young guy.
MY ADVICE:
Its better you rent a flat and just buy a land and keep for now. If you can at least rent a comfortable flat for 250-300k and use maybe 1-2 million and just buy a land somewhere cheap and use the remaining balance in your account to invest or do a business. In 5-8 years later you can build your house to your thirst and still be financially bouyant.
