In what has become one of the trending topics on Nigerian social media platforms at the moment , infamous Nigerian news outlet “THE PUNCH” was banned spreading misleading information on its platform. While reporting the news of an interview session between the ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Nigeria, Dr Fahad Al Taffaq and Adelani Adepegba where the ambassador revealed that more than 15 million foreigners visited Dubai in 2018, The Punch mistakenly dropped a tweet with the title “15 million Nigerians visited Dubai in 2018” thereby causing confusion on social media.
