Don't be a victim of half knowledge. Learn to dig deep and know the history of nations and the people within them. Don't take people's words as authoritative because it sounds nice. Black nations have thrived before modern day colonialism. History is always written by the conquerer and not the conquered. Nigeria is an example of a nation that was programmed to fail. Finally, are you saying that the quote is a reflection of your capacity? That you lack what it takes to lead, govern and treat people right? Stop pointing at others. Talk about yourself.

All of you are olodos, read this first before you judge A Bachelor of Science (Latin Baccalaureus Scientiae, B.S., BS, B.Sc. or BSc; or, less commonly, S.B., SB, or Sc.B., from the equivalent Latin Scientiae Baccalaureus) is an undergraduate academic degree awarded for completed courses that generally last three to five years, or a person holding such a degree.

The first university to admit a student to the degree of Bachelor of Science was the University of London in 1860. Prior to this, science subjects were included in the BA bracket, notably in the cases of mathematics, physics, physiology and botany.

Whether a student of a particular subject is awarded a Bachelor of Science degree or a Bachelor of Arts degree can vary between universities. For example, an economics degree may be given as a Bachelor of Arts (BA) by one university but as a BS by another, and some universities offer the choice of either. Some liberal arts colleges in the United States offer only the BA, even in the natural sciences, while some universities offer only the BS, even in non-science fields.

At universities that offer both BA and BS degrees in the same discipline, the BS degree is usually more extensive in that particular discipline and is targeted toward students who are pursuing graduate school or a profession in that field.

International differences;
Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service awards Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service degrees to all of its undergraduates, although many students major in humanities-oriented fields such as international history or culture and politics. The London School of Economics offers BSc degrees in practically all subject areas, even those normally associated with arts degrees, while the Oxbridge universities almost exclusively award arts qualifications. In both instances, there are historical and traditional reasons. Northwestern University's School of Communication grants BSc degrees in all of its programs of study, including theater, dance, and radio/television/film. University of California, Berkeley grants a BS degree in Environmental Economics and Policy at the College of Natural Resources (CNR), a BS degree in Business Administration at Haas School of Business, and a BA degree in Environmental Economics and Policy at the College of Letters and Science (L&S). Cornell University offers a BS degree in Computer Science from its College of Engineering and a BA degree in Computer Science from its College of Arts and Sciences.

y'all are quick to point out the error, forgetting it's a gift been given to her and the error may not be from her...

Same thing applicable to bachelor of art

A bachelor of arts (BA or AB; from the Latin baccalaureus artium or artium baccalaureus) is a bachelor's degree awarded for an undergraduate course or program in either the liberal arts, sciences, or both. Source: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bachelor_of_Arts

Bachelor is bachelor, Nigerians just like to shade each other anyhow without digging deep if they are right or wrong

What's going on with English language students in Nigeria?

Also, I baked a nairaland cake once, 5+ years ago, I'll post the pictures when I locate them (nothing fancy). It's amazing there are millions of users here but no single image of a nairaland cake. No appreciation.

You people just come here, talk blah blah yada yada, that's it. No acknowledgement of Nairaland platform except to insult the place 24/7.

To me I feel most of the people who made comments here are so dull.
The topic says the cake was given to an English graduate, which means it wasn't the graduate who made the error. Probably who did the cake doesn't know the difference in all that bsc or ba thing but just take a good look at those condemning the post like if they know better or are smarter meanwhile they can't even think outside the box.

Am ashamed of many comments I just read.

Why?

For now, the job market is facing a lull. Everyone seems to be traveling to Canada. I'm sure when Buhari goes, more pragmatic economic policies will be introduced and growth of 6% or more will be the new average instead of the lamentable rates of today

Do you know what the British said about Americans when they tried to create their own country?

We will surely pass this stage though it will take sometime.

The Chinese were basically farmers about 80 years, The Japanese people and the west joked about it. See where they are today.

Lols! Maybe whomever designed it wasn't well informed. Its possible for a non engineering student to say B.SC Engineering as against B.ENG. its nothing really
So you don't know that there is still B.Sc Engineering Your own case is entirely different.
