Smartphone cameras have gotten phenomenal over the years. With companies adding more lenses to their cameras, you have no right not to be a pro.

Here are some photography tips you need to help you achieve that perfect picture.

Get your lens ready: Check and see if there is dust on your camera lens. Wipe with a clean cloth before you take a photo.

A little test: Before you take that perfect photo, ensure you do a little test to see if the lens is clear and ready.

Frame your shots: You do not want to get bent photos; the grid feature helps to achieve the straight-line perfect shot. On Android devices, visit Settings > Apps > Camera, and select “Grid Lines” to choose between a rule-of-thirds overlay or a square overlay for perfectly framed Instagram images.

Look for light, don’t make one: Surrounding light are the best. Before blasting your flashlight ensure you look for the right light conditions. Trust me your photos will look better.

Get your angles right: You might take a photo in a local environment but with the right angle, it will look different. So choose that spot you know will beautify the photo. Explore blind spots

Experiment with exposure: Exposure can make or break any photo, and is the difference between showcasing a subject in all their splendor, or ending up with a shot that leaves them looking like a shadow of their real self. “Always tap the screen to lock focus on the subject you’re photographing.” “This is particularly useful when shooting people against skies. It prevents you from having dark images.”

Explore portrait/bokeh mode: Using any device’s “portrait mode” feature, which simulates the shallow depth of field found in photos shot on professional cameras, will usually net you a more visually appealing shot.
