Contrary to what some Nigerians posit, daddy (as opposed to papa or father) is not an indication of elite status. Its simply an informal version of father. |

Daddy might have gotten into modern Nigerian lexicon as a newer word after colonization, however, I'm of the opinion many Yoruba or Nigerian words we use today, were unknown centuries before. Change is a constant thing. |
