When to take a pregnancy test
If you are not sure whether you are pregnant or not, then wait for at least one to two weeks after you have sex to take a home pregnancy test. During this time, the test will detect levels of a hormone produced during pregnancy called human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). Taking the test earlier than this may not reveal the hCG. It may even be best to wait for at least one week after a missed period to take the test.

The bottom line

The early signs and symptoms of pregnancy vary for everyone and are quite similar to premenopausal syndrome. If you are uncertain of these signs, it would be best to do a home pregnancy test.
