Here is the good news: You can get your money back if you’re scammed in Naira.

Online business in Nigeria is growing geometrically each day but Nigerian online scammers are taking advantage of people’s trust. It’s painful when you discover that the person or company, you’re transacting with is not whom they claimed to be.

I recalled a Lady in the UK whose Husband was scammed N1,000,000 by a Fake Afialink Account on Facebook. She took it upon herself to find the Scammer, all the way from Awka, the Policemen went to Akure and arrested the scammer. Believe it, the scammer is in JAIL now. There are several similar success stories online.

So, Do Not give up on your money if you found yourself in this terrible situation.

It’s very easy to get your money back if you were scammed especially if you were scammed in Naira because every VERIFIED NAIRA ACCOUNT has BVN.

Here are few steps to take:

Step 1. Report this incident to any Police Station of your choice.

Step 2. Get a Court Order. Without Court order, The Bank will not release the data of whoever scammed you. But with Court Order, they MUST comply.

Step 3. With information released which includes: Photo of the Account Owner, Address of the Account Owner, Phone number and Guarantor. The Local Police can trace the scammer to his address.

The Police might need little mobilization fees to act asap! Like N15K

Please note that: CBN has now mandated every bank to open a fraud desk to handle such cases.

The Bank will investigate and even reverse such dubious transactions even though the scammer has withdrawn the money.

Say you use Fidelity Bank and you paid money into a scammer using Polaris Bank, you can simply send a mail to frauddesk@polarisbanklimited.com . Make sure you copy the CBN at cpd@cbn.gov.ng. This puts the banks on their toes.

Every bank has frauddesk@ their bank dot com. Find out their domain by searching on google.

DO NOT BE LAZY! DON’T GIVE UP YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. YOU CAN GET IT BACK!

These days police can trace anybody with just phone number, even if you switch off the phone they can still track you.

Don't be deceived. Just try. I can tell you, it works. The only thing is you know our Nigeria police, they will need money to do that.
