The below is a viral post on social media with respect to UK Work Visa.

UK work visas for parents under the following professions to come (with their families) and work the UK from April 2020*

1. Teachers

2. Doctors

3. Nurses

4. Medical professionals

5. Social Workers

6. Engineers (all categories)

7. I. T professionals

8. Chefs

9. Musicians

10. Architects, Graphic Designers, Quantity Surveyors etc.

*Registration deadline is 25 Jan 2020*

THE CLARIFICATION

The above is true but not entirely (especially with respect to the registration deadline) which is the reason for this write up.

From a colleague:

While I encourage everyone to explore this opportunity, I think, however, some clarification is needed here. The UK shortage occupation list is not a job advert that requires application or registration that will expire on 25 January 2020 or any other time. The list simply means that the listed categories of jobs (as rightly identified in your post) will be given priority consideration as far as expatriate or foreign applicants are concerned. So, the foreign applicants still have the duty to carry out their search on UK job vacancies in those listed areas and thereafter apply to the prospective employers directly. When their applications are successful, the employees will be given an easier or less strident visa application process. For example, some of the requirements for the employer’s sponsorship of the employee’s tier 2 visa to the UK could be waived, provided the job falls within the listed categories. The reason for this less strident visa process is to encourage expatriates to come fill the shortage in the UK labour market.
