Coronavirus: US Confirms First Death, More Cases Likely by YorubaKinging: 4:05am On Mar 01, 2020
The US has reported its first death from the new coronavirus, in the north-west state of Washington.
Officials said the patient was a man in his 50s with underlying health conditions.

President Donald Trump said more cases were "likely" but that the US was prepared for any circumstance.

Officials said they were expanding travel restrictions on Iran and urged Americans to avoid hard-hit parts of Italy and South Korea.

More than 85,000 coronavirus cases have been reported in 57 countries around the world and almost 3,000 deaths, according to the World Health Organization. The vast majority of infections and deaths are in China, where the virus emerged late last year.

Local health officials confirmed on Saturday that the man in his 50s died in Washington state's King County. They said he had not travelled to any high-risk areas.

There was confusion earlier as Mr Trump described the patient as a "wonderful woman".

Washington Governor Jay Inslee has declared a state of emergency in response to new cases in the state.
It comes as officials on the US West Coast - in California, Oregon and Washington - expressed concerns about cases appearing in patients who had not visited an area where there was an outbreak or been in contact with anyone who had.

The people whom have recovered, how were they treated?

Even if its panadol, antibiotics, anything at all, let it be known so uninformed people would not drown themselves in salt water, heat, herbs and all sorts..

Pay attention to the highlighted. This is exactly why the Coronavirus is VERY DEADLY, it's an airborne virus, meaning if it bonds with air particles it can move anywhere the wind goes and infect people along its path. Yet some people are treating this virus with levity. A virus that kills people within weeks, even HIV doesn't kill people in 3 weeks, it might take years, but this one is killing the infected so quick and some people say the virus it's just an ordinary flu. The earlier we start to admit we have a big problem in our hands, the better. A problem acknowledged is a problem half solved, but if we continue to live in denial of the inherent risks this Coronavirus portends, then we will have ourselves to blame. By now the government should be shutting down schools, to protect the children especially, and any large social gatherings till further notice. By now, the government should have been distributing free protective wears to the public, especially those using mass transportation, and they should be taking other critical public safety measures. But they are not prepared, they're only making mouth. Not until when the virus has spread to over one million Nigerians before they start their fire brigade with water approach. This virus is not the kind of thing you play with, you fight it fire for fire from the beginning. Your ability to defeat it depends on your efficiency in cutting off its spread. If it can't spread, we win.

This is not a good one for most powerful country in the world likewise my country Nigeria. This disease won't be able to reduce activities in elderly people especially those immuno-compromise. Our world great scientists, I believe they are doing thorough research on this viral infection, the spreading is very bad and faster than Ebola. May God help us to contain this globally as this won't be beginning of end time. You can get high definition movies and series into external drive and pc including Jumanji: the next level, Bombshell, Charlie's Angel, Knives out, Frozen II Doctor Sleep, Jojo Rabbit, Parasite, and varieties of Series.
