A lot of these problems stem from the simple fact that most of these players come from the slums. They're clueless about the problems they'll encounter as a rich and famous person.

However, after a certain point, they have a duty to figure this out and put their things in order. That doesn't make them invincible, but at least they'll be better protected against total disasters.

Even people who are better prepared still have problems (lawsuits, extortion, theft, etc.). It's the price of making that much money and being very visible.

That said, he's the one that decided he was above the law and could get away with a fake passport, after they took his real one for taxes he owed. Then again, I doubt those authorities really care. He'll be on his way after a few bribes.

He should have just stayed home and played in his mansion with his two wives.

Most US/European stars are extorted by gangs and mafia. They're also threatened by government and other entities if they rock the boat politically and advocate too hard for the general public. They also deal with a bunch of lawsuits, people stealing from them, and lawyers deliberately messing up their taxes. In some parts of Europe there's also the issue of kidnappings.

Being rich and famous isn't as glamorous as many would like to think.
