The Premier League, the Football League, and the Women’s Super League and Championship have put all games on hold till the 3rd day of April 2020.

This is coming as a result of the deadly coronavirus pandemic and its widespread nationwide.

It has been revealed that several Premier League Clubs have members of staff and even other players and coaches, who have been displaying symptoms of the virus. In a statement released by the Premier League: “The Premier League, FA, EFL, and WSL have collectively agreed to postpone the professional game in England.


It was unanimously decided today by shareholders to suspend the Premier League with the intention of returning on 4 April, subject to medical advice and conditions at the time. Despite the challenges, it is the Premier League’s aim to reschedule the displaced fixtures, including those played by academy sides, when it is safe to do so.”

The Football Association announced that the England friendlies set to be played at the end of March, against Denmark and Italy at Wembley have been called off and that refunds will be processed to all those who bought tickets within 14 working days.

In Europe, Uefa officially announced the postponement of all pending fixtures in the Champions League and Europa League to aa future and unspecified date.

However, it would interest you to know that Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta and Chelsea star Callum Hudson-Odoi were both diagnosed with COVID-19 after they tested positive to the virus.
