The Nigerian federal government on Wednesday placed a travel ban on countries that have recorded over 1000 cases of coronavirus.

The Federal Government has announced entry restrictions on travelers from the United States of America, the United Kingdom, China and 10 others with over 1,000 confirmed coronavirus cases.

Apart from moving classes online, some colleges and universities in Nigeria will soon suspend study abroad programs and asked students to remain at home or elsewhere following spring break.

"There are concerns about being locked in and not being able to return home, or vice versa, being locked in at home and not being able to return to school.
