Windows 10 Cumulative Update KB4541335 Finally Resolves Start Menu Search Issue by hmellton: 7:13pm On Mar 30, 2020
Microsoft has released a new cumulative update for Windows 10 version 1903 and 1909, and users can download it right now by manually checking for updates in Windows Update.

Cumulative update KB4541335 comes with the same changes on the two Windows 10 versions, and the most notable for home users concern the Start menu and File Explorer.

The official changelog, which you can find embedded in the box after the jump, reveals that this cumulative update resolves a bug in File Explorer that caused the app to close unexpectedly when using roaming profiles between different versions of Windows 10.

As many users already found out the hard way, the experience with File Explorer has so far been full of ups and downs, so Microsoft resolving more bugs is without a doubt good news. File Explorer continues to be one of the most popular Windows 10 built-in tools, as many stick with it rather than installing third-party file managers.
"Start menu improvements"

In addition, cumulative update KB4541335 also resolves a glitch that broke down the search feature in Start menu. Microsoft says that some users with no local profile were unable to search in the Start menu, as the process failed to return any results.

The same update introduces two notable improvements for calendar dates and app crashes.

“Updates an issue that causes calendar dates to appear on the wrong day of the week in the clock and date region of the notification area when you select the Samoa time zone.

Updates an issue that causes applications to close unexpectedly when a user enters East Asian characters after changing the keyboard layout,” Microsoft explains.

After installing today’s cumulative update, the OS build number is increased to 18362.752 on Windows 10 version 1903 and to 18363.752 on Windows 10 version 1909.
