You are very conversant with the man called 'Bill Gate' and his company 'Microsoft'...right?

Now do you know what Microsoft stands for?

'Micro' stands for micro computer, or personal computer.

'Soft' stands for software.

Back in the 1970s, the computer world was dominated by IBM.

IBM stands for International Business Machines.

At that time, computer was about the size of a room! And the main player was IBM.

While IBM focused on building bigger and more powerful computers, Bill Gate already had a vision that the future of computer is 'micro computer', i.e. personal computer, and in this niche, the biggest money was in the 'software'.

Hence he started 'Micro' + 'Soft'.

In 1980s, when the trend of 'Micro' personal computer became apparent, big corporations like IBM and HP all rushed into the market producing personal computer. Bill Gates on the other hand, continued to focus on the 'Soft' aspect - the operating system.

Those of you who are old enough probably remember the DOS operating system.

Interestingly, Bill Gate didn't create it. He simply bought it from someone else and licensed it to IBM and other big boys who wanted to have a quick share in the PC market.

By now you know who is the real winner.

Bill Gates had been the richest person in the world for more than a decade because he managed to capture the biggest niche of a trend.

Now, fast-forward 20 years later, the same thing happened in the smart phone market.

When Apple came out with the first smart phone, big players like Nokia and Motorola were all striving to create their own version of smart phone while Google came out with a quick fix - the Android operating system.

Then history repeats!

And I assure you that it will repeat again in other industries.

I hope that as you read this story, you can improve your business acumen.

Businesses are changing drastically, online business is taking the lead, the old way of doing business is silently been by technological innovations breaking forth on a daily basis.

Don't just jump into a trend. Always look for the biggest opportunity in that trend.
Shine Ya Eyes!

Have a great day but remember to STAY SAFE!
