An Okada rider in Ebonyi state has turned into a pure water seller following the ban of Okada in the state on Saturday by Governor David Umahi.

Umahi said Okada riders were smuggling people into Ebonyi thereby flouting government’s order on border closure.

Ebonyitvnews reports that since the ban of Okada in the state, life has become more unbearable for the people who depends on it for their daily survivals.

In the Abakaliki International market on Tran-Saharan Highway, an Okada riders was spotted selling sachet pure water as the only alternative since the ban.

I believe that the ban is only temporary, after this whole covid 19 issue it would be lifted.

In as much as smuggling people into the state is wrong but Dave went too far by banning them totally. In my opinion he should have banned only those that operate in border towns like Nkalagu, Nguzu edda, Abomege... etc and left those in areas far from the border to keep operating so that they can at least feed their families.

Ebonyi isn't Lagos, there are areas you can't access with vehicle and Keke only okada. So baning okada would leave a lot of people stranded and helpless.
