Common Mistakes You Should Avoid As A Virtual Assistant by Pauletttteeee(f): 12:54pm On Apr 16, 2020
Are you considering starting your own VA business?

Here are some common mistakes you should avoid:⁣

1. You're not an employee. Stop acting like one.⁣

Remember, you are a business owner. You are not a job applicant. Someone is in need of a service and you can provide that service. Would you ask your hairstylist to see her resume before you went to her? No. You ask around and get reviews and testimonials before you hire them. It’s the same with a virtual assistant.⁣

2. Not following client's instructions.⁣

If you can’t follow a simple instruction, why should the client hire you and trust you in their business? The ones that don’t follow directions, don’t get call backs.⁣

3. Working for free. ⁣

Wait for a contract before starting any work. Do not do any free work. If the client says they want to do a “trial run” for a week to see if it’s a fit but you won’t be paid, do not do it. If a sample project will last more than 15 minutes, do not do it either. ⁣
⁣ ⁣

4. Not setting boundaries with clients so you don’t get taken advantage of.⁣

Keep in mind – what you allow is what will continue. If you continually jump in and help and give in to what your client demands, they will begin to expect that out of you. And that’s not fair to you. It's really okay to say NO. ⁣

Interested in starting out as a VA, then you might want to bookmark this post for future reference also you will need to learn other important things about the business in order to set up correctly and that's why I'm here.
