Marriage Palava part 3 by deleSayo(m): 6:19am On Apr 18, 2020
Our marriage has always had issues from the beginning (as you can see in my previous threads) but we passed it off as normal marital issues which we eventually resolved (or so i thought).

Just when i thought things had began to improve between us, i noticed my wife is no longer interested in sex with me and counting now, it's been 6 months since we had anything to do with each other intimately. I tried to joke around about it just to find out her reasons and she joked back with me saying that for the past 6 years she's known me, i haven't changed from these habits:

1. spending all night in front if the tv, sometimes till 3am in the morning and when i eventually come to bed, i snore so bad and this made her go buy earplugs to help her cope with it. when she said this, i felt so offended that i began to sleep in the guest room and she never apologised or begged me to come back to our matrimonial bed (for 3 weeks now)
2. she always complains that i eat too much and my weight has skyrocketed within the past couple of years. and that my late nights in front of tv means im snacking throughout the night . yes this is true to be fair but the truth is that ive ballooned so much in size that i now lack motivation to do anything about it .
3. she has also complained about my breath to the point that she purchased tongue brush for me which i refuse to use as i find it quite rude that she would say such to me.

The only time we spend together as a couple is when she comes to join me in front of the tv after work. Then by 9pm she's off to bathe our son and put him to bed, from there she's goes to sleep, leaving me alone to watch tv into late hours of the night/morning.

I know for a fact that my wife isnt cheating and apart from sex we have a good friendship. but my problem with her is that her overt and covert behaviour towards sex shows someone who is irritated by me and that makes me feel quite offended.

Chairman you and I know that what your wife has told you is the truth, so what are you nagging for mehn?
She wants you to stop a habit that you recently adopted cos it's getting on her nerves, but you no gree. Only you Snoring, bad breath and adding weight ahn ahn you wan kill the poor woman.
Truth is she is not attracted to your physically that's why she's been doing her Social Distancing for over 6 months now.
Dude you have no option than to conform with her demands. Shed that weight, loose that breath and stop staying up so late everytime...

I find it hard to believe that you would open threads instead of taking care of your mouth odor and refuse to try what your wife suggested because you find it rude that she came up with a solution. Do you know how disgusting mouth odor is? Alone the thought of it makes me want to lipsrsealed Then you are sitting in front of the TV getting fatter. Are you jobless?

Mr, you are as unattractive as a man can be. Instead of opening embarrassing threads, respect yourself and do something about your poor hygiene and bad habits. I pity your wife. Are these the men a woman is meant to respect?

Excuse me sir, if all these things you type are true from 1. Snacking through the night, watching TV to 3am. 2) eating too much and getting bigger doubling your size. 3) Snoring and getting offended whenever she told you, you find it rude when she tried to help you with tougue brush etc.

Then you have the solution already.

First, Your wife can help you better if only you drop your ego but if you continue going to the guest room every time she tries to make you better, I bet you guys will live more time without sex and before you know someone will be helping her outside because from the way you described yourself, it seems she's not finding you attractive anymore, and it's all your fault refusing to be better.

i work a very stressful IT job (which allows me provide the high standard of living my wife has always been used to from birth). so, when i come home by 6/7pm, i enjoy relaxing with my favourite TV shows and movies. whats the crime in that?
don't i deserve time for my own hobbies?

With the points you've made in 2, and 3, that's enough for any woman to deny you sex.
The fault is from you. Some women don't find overweight men attractive and vice versa. And by the way, why would you be spending late night up to 3 am in front of the TV?
Bad breath is a big turn off for me from both genders. I wont even feel comfortable coming closer to you.
I may not have known if there are other reasons that make your wife to deny you sex but those two points you've mentioned are enough for your wife to deny you sex forever.
So work on improving them. Reduce your food intake as well as the number of hours you spend watching the Tv. Do exercise regularly.
Work on your bad breath by brushing your teeth often and especially YOUR TONGUE TOO. I would have suspected it's hunger that may also cause your bad breath, but since you said your weight has blown off, so it isn't. Follow all the good suggestions provided by well meaning friends here then you will notice a change in your marital life.

From your writeup, it is clear that you are married to your TV.

Your TV done replace your wife.

Divorce your TV and marry your wife and enjoy your marriage.

You come home at 6/7 am and watch TV till 3 pm? For at least 7 hours? Are you not tired from your "very stressful IT job"? There is nothing else you can think of to do after work?

Sounds like she has told you everything you need to know. To put it bluntly , she’s no longer sexually attracted to you. Now, the ball is in your court - to change or not to change? See a specialist for the snoring. If you are determined, you can work on your weight and hygiene all by yourself -OR- you could ignore everything she’s said and watch your marital life deteriorate further.

Okay, some being just pointed out my error. That is still not an excuse to get fat, snore, have mouth odour and expect to still be found sexually appealing.

We tell women all the time to stop wrapper, wear red pant and keep fit. That is the advice for you too. At least she has been honourable to tell you the problem.

I don't joke with fitness - Fitness to a man is like beauty to a woman. It's an asset you must maintain at all costs! It determines how you are perceived and speaks volumes of your discipline and self-control.

Just read OP's previous threads, clearly someone who has no love for himself, allowed his family take advantage of him and ruin his marriage. Now he's outchea getting fatter and fatter! What a twaat!

Say no to effeminate men angry

This story seems contrived.

I can't figure out if you're here to complain about your wife not having sex with you, or if you're here to lecture us on the reasons why a wife will not want to have sex with her husband anymore.

What is your purpose here exactly?

Apparently, you weren't ready for marriage and still aren't ready to live the married life now. Take time out to assess the situation you've been painting in all your posts as a third party....you will get your answer.

How can your job be the one that has provided the luxury your wife knows from BIRTH?

Are you an ancestor or is she a minor?

You're so insecure that you quickly reported someone's comment here because he said your comment was childish.
Now that person's comment disappeared within seconds. How was that an insult please? I swear the moderators here have favourites.

I am sure you will have body odour too! Put yourself in her shoes, will you be able to stand her if reverse is the case?
Pls stop your nonsense murmurs and work on your self! If not for sex but for your own health, you are becoming unhealthy.

Oga? Why are you here? Your wife told you her problems with you, which are easily solvable by the way. Instead of you to work on that, you're coming online. For us to tell you what abeg?

Abi you want us to blast your wife to make you feel better?

You have just told us in essence that you are a fat snoring man with halitosis who'd rather spend the night in front of the TV instead of working on intimacy issues with his spouse. Who'd want to bang that? Pity your wife please. grin

.. domin ique, mynd 44 and other mods, you deleted (and probably banned) someone here for the exact same thing this lady just said to me.

You guys are tyrants and bullies! I wonder how much nairaland pays you for this pettiness.

Good, the exact reaction I wanted from you.

Why calling them? Why being so insecure?
Thought it is not an insult.

1. Spending all night in front of the TV and snoring like a wild boar
2. Weight gain
3. Bad breath

Well she's told you what the issue is, she finds you unattractive, simply put. Men justify cheating on their wives for much less, and you're here exhibiting all these three at the same time, pick a struggle

Would you want to be intimate with your wife if the roles were reversed? Luckily all of these things are fixable

BTW, you said she's known you to have done this for 6 years, how long have you been married for? Did she know all this before marriage?

"It's not an insult" yet at your command, they blocked him for it.

You're so pathetic and I won't derail this thread further with you.

Domi nique, Mynd 44 ive mentioned you shameless mods yet again! Do feel free to ban me too for telling your high and mighty friend "Pocohantas" the truth.
