Jesus christ was an evangelist, a prophet and righteous man, due to his recorded deeds. He did not call anyone to be a pastor, own a big church and collect tithes...he only called people to go about and evangelize and share the good news, even the early christ followers were evangelists, going from place to place, it was the Romans that termed it 'Christianity', when they could not stop the zealous christ followers, regardless of persecution and prosecution, they seem to be getting more converts, and the state dont like the power they were getting, via more followership, the Romans came up with a brilliant plan...hence they mixed the state with the church, created a papacy(leadership), and controlled it from there, this was where true spirituality was compromised for religion.

I was just laying a foundation, to show the moment the true essence of what Christ stood for was compromised. Lets talk about the issue of tithing, we must remember that in the old days when tithe was paid, there were no religions like Christianity and Islam, Moses, Abraham and all were not christians, because by then Christianity was not formed, so why will we still adopt tithing?
tithing was being done to provide food for the levites, who had no inheritance in Old testament days, they were foreigners who worked in the terbanacles in the old testament days, the levites, widows, fatherless and most vulnerable are people tithes are meant for. Apostle Paul was a seasoned lawyer, and an evangelist...not a Pastor, preaching the gospel is not a job its a calling, devotion, sacrifice. We are called to evangelize and spread the good news, that was what Elijah, Jesus, John the Baptist, Moses and all the great prophets and evangelists did, not own big structures...go round and preach like Jesus, use that money the people contribute for you, share it for the poor, widows, orphans and most vulnerable suffering people. lets stop deceiving ourselves.

I AGREE WITH YOU, MINISTRY IS NOT A JOB BUT A CALLING..

PASTORS WHO SEE MINISTRY AS A JOB ARE ALWAYS PREACHING ABOUT TITHE AND SEED SOWING..
