Judging by how much some churches are making every week from tithes and offering and from books published, videos and musics,  many churches can no longer be regarded as charity organisations. It is high time that we also looked into the earnings of the so called men of God. How could they afford their lavish lifestyles if not at the expense of the church money? How much of the church earnings actually giving out as charity?

I doubt what taxation will solve but there should be regulations. Churches should have financial records that are verifiable by the public. It helps the image of the church and separates real ministry work from charlatans. I would propose this if I were EFCC chair.

No doubt about it. They should never have been exempt in the first place.
And what have they done with the privilege? Abused it. Their pastors and general overseers have enriched themselves at the expense of their congregations. And although they claim to be charitable organizations, the lady thing they are are charities.
In.the meantime, they all enjoy the amenities of the state without paying for them.

Taxes from what? If it's from tithes and offerings No. But if the church has busineses They can be taxed as a business organisation. But not from what people give as worship. Mosques and shrines would require taxation too.

All money earning organizations are required by law to pay taxes to the government and yes. . .this includes churches. Anyone who feels churches aren't business organizations should provide concrete proofs that show other wise!

Nuff said! ! !
