There's a lot of misinformation and panic about the virus.

The first thing we all should do is chill out, relax, and take precautionary measures. Take triple precautionary measures if you have an underlying medical condition, a weak immune system or you are elderly.

Not to raise alarm, but the covid 19 cases reported in the media are the severe ones ( Symptoms include - Difficulty in breathing, pains, diarrhea, and incessant vomiting) ; There are folks with mild strains of the virus (yes, the virus mutates) and these ones don't make it to the media or even get tested, not just in Nigeria- but all over the world.

The good news is our immune system is strong enough to fight the virus in most cases( less in elderly people or people with underlying medical conditions), even better when you give yourself time to rest, drink lots of warm/hot water, garlic, ginger, turmeric, and vitamins D and C amongst other immune-boosting supplements.

You can have the covid-19 and recover while self-isolating at home, I did and my symptoms are gradually dissipating. One of the symptoms not reported a lot in the media but very common is the loss of smell and taste (anosmia) - complete loss, food tastes like water, you can feel it in your mouth but you can't taste nada! If you find this happening to you alongside fever and chills (even if you are not coughing or sneezing), Isolate immediately and begin to take the items mentioned above, some get their sense of smell and taste back in weeks, and worst-case scenario, months but it will come back.

Of course ...... Prevention is better than cure. But in the event of contracting the virus, keep the faith, self-isolate, stay healthy and monitor your symptoms diligently! Shalom
