The rumor about the "March 15, 2011" Facebook shutdown is spreading like fire on the internet, while keeping many Facebook users guessing and worried.

With a company estimated at being worth over $50 billion, I am wondering why the owner would choose to suddenly shut it down instead of selling it off.
