Yeah, it's my first time. I'll probably be leaving first week of feb and stay through to the end of the festival.

One of the main aim (but by no means the only reason) of me going then is because i heard that there's usually up to 75% discount on items sold during that period. So i'm looking to purchase items cheap and take back to nigeria to sell and make very huge profit.

On the other hand, i want to treat myself to a good time at the most liveliest time in that country as they are expecting over 3.5 million people worldwide for the festival. It spells fun.

dubai shopping festival is a month long. It starts on the 20th jan and ends 20th of feb. It's an annual event. I'll be there for two weeks (the last two weeks of the fest)

i've booked my flight for the 5th of feb. I'll pay and collect the ticket tmrw. I've decided to go with emirate as they have an arrangement thingy going on for their passengers, tours e.t.c, and a promo offer of staying 4 days at a hotel and paying for 3. Sounded reasonable.

Thing is i just want to clear this ticket thing out of the way and probably few days to the trip, i'll fly into lagos to sort and look into the 'promo package'.

I want to stay till the end of the festival ( i have a feeling the last day is going to be a blast and things would be given at a give away price) and i only want to be gone for two weeks, so i'll leave on the 5th of feb to come back on the 21st.

How many more leave week do you have left?

My leave expires last day of jan, i havent booked my flight yet,still looking out for a good travel offer, did u use an agent to book emirates?i didnt see emirates on d list of flights on www.wakanow.com, saw ethiopian airline and qatar, i guess i should hasten up since my own journey is closer, i wld apprec8 any useful info

dear i'm so happy! The problem is i'm not in lagos and they (emirates) don't have an office here in abuja. This means i've not yet verified the offer yet. Maybe you should do that since you are in lagos and tell me about it.

As regards Emirates, i went to their office today they actually have good packages for clients vareities of them,Differnt classes of hotels,visa fees is 79 usd.You can book for your air ticket on line and use your reference no go to Zenith Bank or Uba and pay.

Then for visa and hotel as i said they have varieties you will choose from depending on your choice.

But i am using my agent to get my visa,hotel accommodation and airticket i am still negotiating total packages for 8 nights shouldnt exceed N215,000.00, i would have gone back to Emirate and do it myself but i have no time.

@promise2,do u know using an agent for d visa and hotel is like pennywise poundfoolish? i just did as Amya said, i called d emirates office,then sent someone to go on my behalf to pay for d hotel n visa at their office, now agent would charge u 30k for visa per person but if u book hotel with emirates,ur visa would cost only 76usd per person,dats less than 12k in naira, and if u book 3nights u get xtra night free,i guess since u wanna stay for 8nights u might hv to pay for only 6nights using emirates,then factor in ur visa,i bet ur gonna spend a lot less than 200k, i have booked my hotel and visa for myself n son and we got 70k for everything for 4nights/5days hotel stay, besides,u stil get a free ride to n fro d hotel,and other exciting free stuff, imagine if i used agent,visa alone for myself n son is 60k, i suggest u go to the emirates office n see for urself since ur in lagos, then u can compare offers,

@Halle2 thanks I went to Emirates in Island I found out that most hotels d have in their promo are in Bur Dubai I need a hotel in deira besides my agent is my friend and she didn't really make much from me athough going by Emirates is better.so don't worry I have already done all that.
