Is Coronavirus A Scam To ‘eat’ Money In Nigeria By Government? by JABB(m): 2:24pm On May 20, 2020
As the coronavirus pandemic continue to ravage the world, there have been insinuations by a cross-section of Nigerians that the disease does not exist in Nigeria. As soon as the Government officially announced the confirmation of the index case, an Italian on 27 February 2020, many Nigerians including very highly placed Political figures have dismissed it as not being true.

Some have sarcastically asked questions like “shey the Italian no get name ni”, “why cant the government show us his picture”. Others compared it to the case of the Liberian Index case who brought the Ebola disease into the country, asking if the Government then had mentioned his name, Patrick Sawyerr why is the present government keeping the identity of the Italian a secret.

The skepticism then among these Nigerians could be judged to be both genuine and mischievous. Some of such persons attributed their disagreement with Government based on the trust issues they said they have with government. As according to them, some Government officials have been found in previous times not to be giving out correct information to the populace.
