Viewers of the crime, drama series can’t wait no longer for the return of the much anticipated fifth season of drug cartel crime thriller, Queen of the South.

The series created by M.A Fortin and Joshua John Miller for the USA Network tells the story of Teresa Mendoza, a young lady from Culiacan, Mexico and her travails and struggles in becoming a force to reckon with in drug cartels.

Release Date?

The release date for the highly anticipated fifth season of Queen of the South is yet to be announced, however viewers would expect a 13 episode season and would hopefully air at the beginning of June 2020 as prior seasons have all aired within same period.

according to reports, production of the 5th season was suspended due to the outbreak of coronavirus worldwide.

CAST?

Alice Braga will of course carry on the lead role as Teresa Mendoza, with Henky Madera expected to retain his position as Teresa Mendoza‘s right-hand man, Pote Galvez.

Peter Gadiot as James Valdez and Nick Sagar as Alonzo Loya. Julian Silva who played the role of Tony Parra will not be making a return as he was killed in a car bomb in the 4th season. Another likely returnee is Devon Finch (Jamie Hector) who’s still working with the CIA to expose occultic drug lord, El Santo.

TRAILER?

USA released a trailer for the 5th season on 29th August last year.

The 15-second trailer teases the upcoming villain, with a character saying: “These Russians, they are the most ruthless sons of b****** that walk the Earth.”

We also see Teresa say: “If I do this, where does it end?”

Meanwhile, the caption for the promo reads: “The queen will return. No risk, no reward.”
