dear nairalanders,pls can someone help me to identify the specie of this snake.
I was actually sleeping in my sitting room.at about 3.A.m,I woke up to charge my phone.
immediately I stood up,I heard a creepy noise.
I switched on the light and I saw this big snake.
I quickly went to call my younger Bro, who was sleeping in the living room to kill it.
Note: I recently packed into the house (My house actually),in a developing area.i checked the whole Windows net to see if there's any opening or probably a crack in the wall,I didn't find any.

is this snake poisonous?

I'm actually a male.but snakes scares the shit out of me.and in addition to the confused state i was in.

I think people are really hunting for snake just to be on Nairaland front page. Because I don't understand why you must kill snake everyday

rather than trying to know the specie, channel the energy on finding out how the snake managed to enter. There might be more snakes, be careful when you want to use the toilet to avoid the story that touches the heart.

I actually posted this to know how best to prevent a future occurrence. like I said earlier,I have checked the whole surroundings to see if there's any hole, I couldn't find any.
I'm wondering how the snake managed to entered .please can you suggest anything that that drives snakes away?I have fumigated the whole house already.

I once ran from front of our house straight up stairs because of snake, u know who finally killed d snake? my late grand mother. some of us fear snake like mad
