My cousin has not been able to secure a good job 4 years after nysc.currently,he said he doesn't have interest in his profession anymore since it didn't favour him and he wants to switch to IT because his inner mind has been pushing him to it for years but he hasn't given it a chance but since what he studied couldn't foot his bills he wants to listen to his mind and he has the mindset of leaving the country once he sees a chance so he wishes to go into IT considering the fact that it pays well in the western world.
Please I need suggestions/advice on lucrative IT skills that can make waves for him both in Nigeria and abroad

Note: He has no knowledge of IT (programming, data analysis, etc) and is ready to start from the scratch.

ALL SECTORS OF ICT ARE LUCRATIVE

yes they are all very much in demand and give opportunities for global growth..... THE REAL QUESTION IS... what kind of person is your cousin?

what are his traits and characteristics, the make-up of his personality, these are the things that will determine what he NATURALLY can do in ICT effortlessly.


So anyone coming to tell you one thing or the other will only be misleading at best.... YOUR COUSIN SHOULD KNOW HIMSELF FIRST.... he has a flair... a spark... he should find it and do proper research on all ICT SECTORS and he will find ONE or two that best suits him.... THAT IS WHERE HE BELONGS.,

If he fixates his mind in western world I suggest he should as well school in his chosen country.

Nigeria certificates are useless in UK, USA and many top countries, they will require you to undergo fresh BSc or at worst, an Msc in your field before you can land a job in said field.

You must obtain "their" education.

The ICT field is way more than that. There's blockchain development, project management, UI and UX design, digital marketing, embedded systems programming, game development, networking and so much more. I think it's best to do your own research and see where you would fit in and work towards that.

My own THOUGHTS oo.... let's wait for others.

When it comes to IT there are subtle options people do not know about but is kinda obvious, ever considered looking at cybersecurity? This field is getting popular with several branches and the cool thing it's very lucrative. If you have a good foundation you are good to go. This company focemsecurity provide training, a 1-1 remote coaching plan and also help you break into any industry such as financial institutions, government institutions, service providers etc.with the skills you are going to be trained on cybersecurity. How do i know this, my sister took their 6 months training that cost about 300,000 naira June last year, they helped her secure a security certification she got an internship offer and now working as a security engineer with one of the fortune 500 companies. Funny enough she studied geography in uni.
