I asked a contact for market survey on connection that will power 2 rechargeable fans, a laptop and minor accessories.
Please is this amount correct?

Do you really want to spend that much to power the things you mentioned? If you go the DC route, you could save some cost. Buy a laptop power bank for around 200k or 330k, buy two 150W solar panels to charge for less than 100k, and buy a solar charge controller for around 40k and you are good to go. You will need some wires for the connections and DC breakers. You can also add an inverter to it in the future if you want.

You can also buy only the power bank and charge with light too. The 330k is about 1230Wh.

What are the minor accessories?
This quote doesn't look minor. If it those rechargeable fan, laptop the smart solar kit is your best bet.

This will be cheaper for you on the long term if you are running an ice block business.

Besides your design requires more of battery backup.

Good luck on your quest sir smiley

I am curious on which battery can power 2 hp compressor for 10 hours of no sunlight.

That will be like 12 dry cell battery.
What's the evaluation on Lithium battery?

Guys, pls how do I prevent my set up from thunder? About 2 weeks ago, there was rainfall and it came with thunder strikes which affected my 1ka inverter, which is currently undergoing repair. I have bought DC surge protector and breaker. But I'm still feeling this might not be enough, cuz someone told me that I can have these accessories but if the house isn't earthed properly that they won't work.

Please what measures can I take to secure my setup from the effects of subsequent thunder strikes?

Thanks for your responses in advance.

Draw current back?
The solar panel Na Drogba grin grin?

When you say draw back, is it not producing any current or your battery doesn't get charged?

When did you start noticing this

10m should tidy the project.

Besides the initial op wanted the system to run at night.

If you plan to run during the day, 7m will cater for it

Go and get an effective earth. Your earth resistance should read about 10-5 ohms for residential purpose and 0-5ohms for industrial applications.

But that aside, Recently I was thinking about this lightening strike.
And I came up with this hypothesis

I was thinking what if I include a AC SPD to the output of the inverter too( reason is most lightening strike are likely to come from the AC side.)

Meanwhile it's just an hypothesis undecided.

Thanks for the response. But is it possible to install earth in a rented apartment? And I also learnt that an effective earthing can be very expensive, reason why most landlords opt for the less effective ones.

Aside the cost, the Question is how many people have the test equipment to achieve a good Earthing.

I am just coming from where they sell test equipment, test equipment are expensive.

Earth megger 200k?
I was told 95k some months back and I felt it was expensive.

Yes you can install one in a rented apartment

I think the AC SPD should make sense because I was surprised how the lightening didn't affect the charge controller, because I felt it came from the solar. My thought now is that since the strike affected the inverter, it most likely came from the mains. So I think it makes sense to put an SPD between the mains and the inverter. This is just my layman thought process.

Yes one ought to be at the input side.

But am thinking of using another at the output as well.

This protection thing be like trial by error.
