Eddie Hearn, Anthony Joshua promoter shocked the boxing world yesterday with the most anticipated news in boxing, AJ vs Tyson Fury fight. He said both had agreed a two-fight deal.

Boxing lovers, fans and pundits have all been willing to see both British champions face each other for years, and this could come to reality by 2021 according to Eddie.

There has been lots of debate over who will pick up the win, and several boxing legends have shared their thoughts, with The Sun sharing an article with several quotes from over the years.

‘Iron’ Mike Tyson is backing his namesake to become the undisputed heavyweight champion.

He said: “(Fury) is the best heavyweight champion of the world since myself. He is the man, I don’t care what anybody says.”

George Foreman added: “That boy Tyson Fury, you’re going to have to bring everything you’ve got to beat him. I’m going to be honest with you – I just can’t see Joshua beating him.”

Ricky Hatton is also backing 'the Gypsy King' and, when asked to pick a winner, simply replied: “Fury.”

However, Tony Bellew believes Joshua’s style will give him the edge.

He said: “You can’t really knock Tyson Fury for what he’s doing since coming back. I understand why people have him No 1.

“I have to put Fury No 1, but I still think AJ beats him. Styles make fights, and I think AJ’s style is all wrong for Fury.”

Wladimir Klitschko, who has shared the ring with both men and lost to both, added: “Joshua is a superior athlete, great fighter, Olympic champion. Most importantly, he’s a great guy who carries the torch of this image of a heavyweight champion perfectly.

“I’m proud to call him as a friend, even though we were (rivals). And I think and I wish that eventually Joshua is going to unify all of the belts. That’s the eventual plan.”

Johnny Nelson has also warned fans not to write off AJ, but seemingly refused to pick a side.

He said: “After Fury’s last performance a lot of people’s minds have been changed. Again, you’ve got to look at each individual on their last performance.

“Anthony Joshua has shown a completely new side to him, saying ‘I’m now a student of this game’. Don’t be fooled by that amazing performance that Tyson Fury did and write Anthony Joshua off, that would be a fatal mistake.”

Interestingly, David Haye believes Joshua is the only man with a chance of dethroning ‘the Gypsy King’.

He said: "I just think the only person who has the artillery, the skill set, the athleticism, the clean living, the know-how, the experience, to have a chance to beat Fury is Anthony Joshua.

“I think he’s the only person right now, realistically, most people would say if anyone’s got a chance I’m putting it on Anthony Joshua. So, he’s the only guy who has the tools to do it.”

Meanwhile, Evander Holyfield believes the bout will come down to which fighter is mentally stronger.

He said: “Tyson Fury, he can fight! The difference in people is how hard they work.

“Joshua may be the better boxer of all of them but, with Fury, you never know. He has long arms and throws shots that you don’t see. He can make adjustments.

“Boxing is mental – it’s about who is stronger in the mind, that outweighs physical things. People thought they could beat me because of how I look.”

Fury's longer arm is a serious concern...I think Joshua sud close up to prevent the long jab

Joshua should not allow fury to rest on him during the match cause that will make him tire

Joshua clearly d underdog and fury will be nervous and anxious to go for the knockout
