Evil, pain and suffering are never far from us. Why does God allow it? Can a loving God allow suffering? Why does God allow suffering? How do we reconcile a caring god, a god of power, with a god who allows evil to happen?

* Tragedies and suffering flood the news. Why?

* Evil and pain afflict loved ones, friends and communities. Why does God allow this?

* Suffering seems to leave no one untouched.

People ask why God allows pain in their lives – emotional pain, physical suffering, sadness and loss. They say God must not care, or perhaps he is not powerful.

God allows us to be human, to make choices. He cannot allow human freedom without allowing suffering or humans would be puppets. Much of the evil and pain in the world is human evil, humanly-caused pain, the result of human sin.

God allowed Adam and Eve to make choices. Their choice to sin brought suffering and chaos into the whole world. But it’s not over! God’s Word promises that he will create a new heaven and a new earth and there will be “no more mourning or death or pain” because man’s sin will be gone and God will dwell with mankind.

God does not want suffering. God allows mankind to make choices – but sinful choices come under his judgment. He allows evil but judges it, too.

* Free will to love others and God himself is not free if it disallows other options.

* Sinful desires bring natural consequences including pain.

* Sinful choices carry spiritual consequences – including God’s judgment.

Pain and suffering result from sin in the world – peoples’ own sin. Even though God allows suffering and pain caused by sin, he alone can judge sin justly. God’s Word warns us not to judge others.

Though God allows suffering, he overcomes it.

But god can stop pain and suffering, but he chooses not to, so how can you say the god is merciful or just. There was a time in the bible where god has impeded on someone's freewill to make them act in a certain way, like when he hardened Pharaoh's heart to not grant the children of Israel an exodus from Egypt. The argument that SIN IS THE RESULT OF GOD RESPECTING FREE WILL, is contradicted when god himself violated the free will of somebody according to his scriptures. And suppose that god did not violate anyone's freewill in all of history. Then what do you think of heaven, is there free will? If yes, then heaven would have sin just like earth, (and if it wouldn't have sin for one reason or another, then why didn't god make things that way in the beginning, he's omnipotent so he can do anything). If no freewill in heaven, then why did god give adam and eve free will to begin with.

And even if you do believe evil, pain and tragedy is caused by sin, there are many instances where this isn't the case. For example, a child dying right after birth, or due to medical condition, (what was the sin that lead to this tragedy?). Or natural disaster killing a large number of people, it's not sin related because even if you believe that sometimes natural disaster is caused by supernatural forces, that means some of natural disasters aren't caused by supernatural forces, some are just natural occurrences with no relation to sin. So therefore not all tragedy is the result of sin. (And even natural disasters you believe to be supernaturally caused, it does affect followers of god equally tragically, meaning god would kill a good person that happen to live amongst the bad. And I suppose you believe that sin is prevalent all around the earth, so christ followers really aren't free from being condemned amongst the "wicked" through one disaster or another).

And you may try to argue and say, all tragedy not directly attributed to the sin of somebody, was the result of Adam's first sin. but why did he make their sins affect their offspring, equally. Why punish a criminal's child with the criminal.

I could go further but i'll end here, and leave you with this food for thought.

Logical problem of evil
Originating with Greek philosopher Epicurus, the logical argument from evil is as follows: If an omnipotent, omnibenevolent and omniscient god exists, then evil does not. There is evil in the world. Therefore, an omnipotent, omnibenevolent and omniscient god does not exist.

Suffering wasn't a part of God's plan A, but it's a part of His plan B because of necessity...

Tsunami
Tornado
Volcanic eruption
Drought
Natural birth defects
Disease causing organism
... and so on

All this has nothing to do with the activities of man, free will or whatever.

This is the type of suffering people are talking about. Why this phenomenons happening when there is a loving God

There would not have been any purpose of life... It is our duty to end it.
