The Federal government has announced the indefinite suspension of the aviation company, ExecuJet that took Naira Marley to Abuja.

The minister of aviation Hadi Sirika made this known during the Presidential Task Force, PTF on COVID-19 daily briefing in Abuja on Monday.

The Bombardier Challenger 605 with registration number 5N-EXS, is owned by businessman Sam Iwajoku but operated by Executive Jet Services, also believed to be co-owned by Nigerian billionaire businessman, Aliko Dangote.

Recall Nigerian artistes Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley traveled from Lagos to Abuja for a show, in what appears to be flagrant disregarding to safety precautions and social distance.

The Aviation Minister said, “operations of the flight company have been suspended indefinitely, will also be fined. Flight Captain will also be sanctioned for providing false information.

“The flight that took Naira Marley to Abuja was approved for a different purpose, to convey a servicing Justice from Lagos to Abuja & back, on official assignment.”

“In this challenging time, in our wisdom, we decided that the judiciary was part of the essential services. Moving a judge from Lagos to Abuja was in order.” However, the flight operator violated approval.

He further said, “going forward we willl escalate the mechanisms we have in place, and we will be stricter in our approvals (and enforcement).”

According to the Minister of Aviation, ExecuJet provided false information, and used approval granted for an illegal flight operation to convey a musician to Abuja (for an illegal concert).
